URL Parameter Handling

URL parameters serve various purposes: filtering, sorting, tracking, pagination and session identification. Each requires different SEO handling. Tracking parameters should canonicalise to clean URLs; filtering parameters often should be noindex; sort orders typically need canonical handling. Google deprecated the URL Parameter tool in Search Console in 2022.
