Self-certified WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance

Following an internal audit completed on 28 April 2026, wixseo.co.uk substantially conforms to WCAG 2.2 at Level AA. The audit covered automated scans (axe-core, Lighthouse, WAVE), manual keyboard testing, screen-reader walkthroughs (NVDA + VoiceOver) and colour-contrast verification across the full template library.

The four POUR principles

WCAG is built on four pillars. Here is exactly what each one means in practice on wixseo.co.uk.

Perceivable

Information and UI components are presented in ways every user can perceive - text alternatives, captions, sufficient contrast and resizable text.

  • All non-decorative images carry descriptive alt text.
  • Body text meets a minimum 4.5:1 contrast ratio; large text 3:1.
  • Layouts reflow without horizontal scroll down to 320 CSS pixels.
  • No information is conveyed through colour alone.

Operable

Every interactive element is reachable and usable with a keyboard, voice or switch device. Focus is visible at all times.

  • All controls and links are keyboard-operable with logical tab order.
  • A visible 2-pixel focus ring meets WCAG 2.4.11 (Focus Not Obscured).
  • No keyboard traps; modals can always be dismissed with Escape.
  • Animations respect prefers-reduced-motion.

Understandable

Text is readable, behaviour is predictable and forms help users avoid and recover from mistakes.

  • The page language is declared (en-GB) and switches are announced.
  • Form fields have visible labels and clear, programmatic error messages.
  • Consistent navigation across every page (header, breadcrumbs, footer).
  • Plain English; jargon is explained in the SEO Glossary and Wiki.

Robust

Content is reliably interpreted by current and future assistive technology, including screen readers and voice control.

  • Semantic HTML5 landmarks: header, nav, main, footer, article.
  • ARIA used only where native HTML is insufficient; no redundant roles.
  • Live regions announce dynamic content (toasts, search results).
  • Tested with NVDA, VoiceOver, JAWS and TalkBack.

Built-in accessibility features

Full keyboard navigation

Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Space and Escape are supported throughout.

Visible focus indicators

A 2-pixel high-contrast outline appears on every focusable element.

44x44 px touch targets

All interactive elements meet WCAG 2.5.8 minimum target size.

Resizable text to 200%

Layout adapts gracefully when text is enlarged in the browser.

Screen-reader friendly

Tested with NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver and TalkBack.

Six-language support

EN, DE, FR, AR (RTL), JA, ZH with declared lang attributes.

Known limitations

We are transparent about edge cases where full conformance is not yet possible.

Browser-based podcast narration

The Wix SEO Podcast uses the browser SpeechSynthesis API. Voice quality and language coverage depend on the device. Full transcripts are always provided as the primary content.

Workaround: Read the full transcript on each episode page.

Embedded third-party tools

A small number of pages embed third-party widgets (e.g. PageSpeed Insights). Their internal accessibility is governed by the provider.

Workaround: Equivalent information is available outside the embed.
