URL Slug

The portion of a URL that identifies a specific page, typically derived from the title.

A clean URL slug is short, lowercase, hyphen-separated, descriptive and includes the target keyword. Avoid stop words, dates, parameters and underscores. Wix auto-generates slugs from page titles but allows manual override in the SEO settings. Changing established slugs requires 301 redirects to preserve link equity and search rankings.
