PageRank

Google's original algorithm for ranking web pages based on link analysis.

PageRank, named after co-founder Larry Page, models the web as a graph and assigns each page a score based on the quality and quantity of incoming links. While Google retired the public Toolbar PageRank in 2016, the underlying concept still informs Google's ranking systems. Modern PageRank uses machine learning to evaluate link patterns and detect manipulation.
