Bounce Rate

The percentage of single-page sessions where users leave without further interaction.

Bounce rate is largely deprecated in GA4, replaced by engagement rate (the inverse). High bounce rates aren't inherently bad - they may indicate content fully answered the user's question. Context matters: blog readers may bounce after consuming content, while bouncing transactional landing pages signals problems. Compare bounce rates by page type and intent.
