Accessibility (a11y)

Designing sites usable by people with disabilities; correlated with SEO benefits.

Accessibility involves alt text, semantic HTML, keyboard navigation, sufficient colour contrast, ARIA attributes, captions and structured form labels. WCAG provides the leading guidelines (2.2 AA is current best practice). While accessibility isn't a direct ranking factor, accessible sites tend to perform better technically, have stronger semantics and avoid usability issues that hurt SEO.
