Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS)

A Core Web Vital measuring unexpected visual movement during page load.

CLS quantifies how much page content shifts unexpectedly during loading. Good CLS is below 0.1, needs improvement is 0.1-0.25, poor is over 0.25. CLS is caused by images without dimensions, dynamically injected ads, fonts loading after layout, embeds without reserved space and animations affecting non-transform properties. Reserving space for ads and media usually solves CLS.
