Complete AI-powered SEO workflow and automation system
Module 44: Wix AI Marketing Tools & SEO Automation | Lesson 511 of 688 | 48 min read
By Michael Andrews, Wix SEO Expert UK
This lesson brings together every AI tool and technique from this module into a complete, repeatable SEO workflow that you can run consistently every week. The system uses AI to handle the repetitive, time-consuming tasks — bulk meta description generation, content drafting, alt text creation, competitor monitoring — while reserving your human expertise for the strategic decisions that AI cannot make: which topics genuinely serve your audience, which angles are uniquely yours and which opportunities align with your business goals. Build this workflow once and you will have a sustainable competitive advantage that compounds over time.
Building Your AI-Assisted SEO Stack
- Wix AI Text Creator: for in-editor content generation and meta tag suggestions directly in Wix
- ChatGPT or Claude: for bulk content tasks, competitor analysis and strategic planning that require longer context
- Surfer SEO or Frase: for SERP analysis and AI-guided content optimisation against competitors
- Zapier or Make: for automating data collection, AI processing and reporting workflows
- Google Search Console: the data source for all keyword and performance monitoring
- Wix Analytics: for user behaviour data that pairs with GSC search data
- Screaming Frog: for monthly bulk crawls that feed meta tag audits into AI for batch rewrites

Bulk Meta Description Generation Using AI
Generating and updating meta descriptions at scale with AI
- Crawl your Wix site using Screaming Frog (free up to 500 URLs) and export the full list of pages with their current meta descriptions
- Open the export CSV and filter for pages with: (a) no meta description, (b) meta descriptions under 120 characters, or (c) meta descriptions over 160 characters
- Create a working spreadsheet with columns: URL, Page Title, H1, Current Meta Description, Target Keyword
- Fill in the Target Keyword column manually — this is the one step that requires human SEO judgment and should not be delegated to AI
- Paste the spreadsheet data into Claude with this prompt: "For each row in this table, write a compelling meta description of 150-158 characters that: (1) includes the target keyword naturally, (2) highlights a specific benefit or outcome, (3) includes a soft call to action, (4) is unique from all other descriptions in the list. Return results in a table format matching the input."
- Review every AI-generated description — check for: character count (use a meta tag length checker), keyword inclusion, duplicate phrasing and factual accuracy
- Rewrite any descriptions that feel generic, include incorrect claims or repeat phrasing from another page
- Log into Wix, go to each page in the Editor, open SEO Settings and paste in the finalised description
- For sites with 50+ pages, batch the update into 10-page sessions to maintain quality control
Automating SEO Monitoring with Zapier and Make
Setting up automated SEO alerts and reporting workflows
- Create a free Make (formerly Integromat) account at make.com
- In Make, create a new Scenario and add the Google Search Console module
- Connect your GSC account and set the trigger to run every Monday at 8am
- Configure the GSC module to pull: clicks, impressions, CTR and average position for all queries in the previous 7 days
- Add a Google Sheets module to write the weekly data to a running spreadsheet — this builds a historical database of your keyword performance
- Add an HTTP module configured to call the OpenAI API (or Anthropic API) with a prompt that summarises the weekly data: "Here is my weekly SEO performance data. Highlight: (1) keywords that dropped more than 3 positions, (2) keywords with high impressions but CTR below 2%, (3) any new keywords appearing for the first time. Format as a concise weekly SEO briefing."
- Add a Gmail or email module to send the AI-generated briefing to your inbox every Monday morning
- Test the full scenario manually first to verify each step is working correctly
- Activate the scenario and let it run automatically — you now receive an AI-written SEO briefing every week without any manual data work
Weekly AI-SEO Routine
Your complete weekly AI-assisted SEO workflow
- Monday: Read your automated AI SEO briefing (from Make scenario) — flag the 3 most important issues or opportunities to address this week (10 min)
- Monday: Review Wix AI analytics insights for user behaviour changes and cross-reference with the GSC briefing data (15 min)
- Monday: Use AI to generate detailed content briefs for the 1-2 pieces of content you will create this week, based on your keyword gap analysis (30 min)
- Tuesday to Wednesday: Write content using AI drafts as starting points — add original insights, first-hand experience, specific data and your expert perspective before publishing (2-4 hours)
- Thursday: Use Wix AI Text Creator to generate meta tag variations for all pages published or updated this week — review and refine each one manually (30 min)
- Thursday: Draft alt text for all images added this week using AI, then review for accuracy and contextual keyword relevance (20 min)
- Friday: Run AI competitor monitoring — check if competitors have published new content on your target keywords this week and whether it changes your content priorities (30 min)
- Friday: Review chatbot logs for new FAQ content opportunities — add any new questions to your content calendar (15 min)
Monthly AI-SEO Tasks
- Bulk meta tag audit: run Screaming Frog, export all titles and descriptions, feed into AI for batch quality assessment and rewrite suggestions
- Content gap analysis: run AI-powered competitor gap analysis against your top 5 competitors and update your 90-day content plan
- Internal link audit: export all pages and their inbound internal links, feed into AI to identify orphan pages and under-linked high-value content
- Content freshness review: feed your list of posts older than 12 months into AI and ask it to identify which have time-sensitive information that needs updating
- Schema audit: check all structured data via Google's Rich Results Test and update any that have errors or missing fields
- Backlink opportunity identification: use AI to analyse your top-performing content and generate a list of sites that link to similar content but not to yours
Quality Control Checkpoints for AI-Generated SEO Content
Every piece of AI-assisted content must pass a human quality gate before publishing. Check each item against this list: facts and statistics are verified against primary sources, original insights or first-hand experience are included that the AI could not have generated, the target keyword appears naturally in the H1, at least two H2s and the first paragraph, internal links point to at least two relevant pages on your site, all images have descriptive contextual alt text, the meta title and description are unique across the entire site, and the content would be genuinely useful to a reader even if no search engines existed. Content that fails any of these checks goes back for revision, not to the publish queue.
