Multi-platform content syndication workflow for SEO
Module 41: Parasite SEO & Third-Party Platform Authority | Lesson 475 of 688 | 48 min read
By Michael Andrews, Wix SEO Expert UK
Publishing on multiple platforms amplifies your content reach and creates multiple ranking opportunities for the same topics. This lesson provides the complete workflow for syndicating content from your Wix site across platforms without creating duplicate content problems.
The Hub-and-Spoke Content Distribution Model
Your Wix website is the hub: the definitive, most comprehensive version of every piece of content. Platform posts are spokes: adapted versions designed for each platform's audience and format. Every spoke links back to the hub, creating a network of signals that builds your Wix site's authority.

Content Adaptation per Platform
- Wix Blog (Hub): full 2000+ word article with images, schema, internal links
- LinkedIn Article (Spoke): 1500 word professional version with CTA to Wix for full resource
- Medium Post (Spoke): imported via canonical URL or adapted summary
- Reddit Post (Spoke): conversational version focused on key insights and discussion
- Quora Answer (Spoke): specific question-answer format addressing one aspect
- Twitter/X Thread (Spoke): key takeaways in thread format with link to full article
- YouTube Video (Spoke): video version of the content with link in description
Syndication Timeline
Optimal distribution schedule
- Day 1: Publish full article on your Wix blog
- Day 2: Share on social media to drive initial indexing signals
- Day 3-5: Wait for Google to index the Wix version
- Day 5: Import to Medium with canonical tag pointing to Wix
- Day 7: Publish LinkedIn article (adapted version, not copy)
- Day 7-10: Answer relevant Quora questions linking to the full article
- Day 10-14: Create Reddit post in relevant subreddit (if appropriate)
- Day 14: Create Twitter/X thread with key insights
Avoiding Duplicate Content Issues
The key to multi-platform syndication is ensuring Google knows which version is the original. Always publish on Wix first. Use canonical tags where platforms support them (Medium). Adapt content for other platforms rather than copying verbatim. Google is sophisticated enough to understand syndication when the original source is clear.
How to Create a Multi-Platform Content Syndication Workflow
Use this operational workflow to systematically repurpose every Wix blog post across multiple platforms on a repeatable schedule.
Building a repeatable multi-platform content syndication system
- Create a Content Syndication Tracker spreadsheet with columns for: Article Title, Wix Publish Date, Google Index Date, Medium Published, Medium Canonical Set, LinkedIn Article Published, Reddit Posted, Quora Answered, UTM Links Created, and Monthly Referral Traffic.
- Establish your publishing sequence as a non-negotiable rule: Wix blog always publishes first, then wait for Google Search Console to confirm indexing (typically 1-3 days), then proceed to platform distribution in the order Medium > LinkedIn > Reddit > Quora.
- After publishing each Wix article, immediately submit the URL in Google Search Console URL Inspection > Request Indexing. Record the confirmation date in your tracker. Do not start any platform syndication until this step is complete.
- On day 5 after Wix publication, import the article to Medium using the Import Story feature. Set the canonical URL to your Wix article in Story Settings before publishing. Submit to relevant Medium Publications on the same day.
- On day 7, write and publish your LinkedIn article adaptation. This should cover the same topic but be rewritten for a professional audience and LinkedIn's reading context. Include a CTA linking to your Wix article for the complete version.
- On days 7-10, search your target subreddits for existing threads on your article topic. If relevant active threads exist, post a comment sharing your key insight with an optional link. If no relevant thread exists, evaluate whether creating a new resource post is appropriate given your karma level.
- On days 10-14, search Quora for questions your article answers directly. Write a fresh Quora answer that addresses the specific question, drawing on your article's content but not copying it verbatim. Link to your Wix article at the end.
- Create all UTM-tagged links for your platform versions using the Google Campaign URL Builder at ga-dev-tools.google/ga4/campaign-url-builder. Use utm_campaign=content-syndication and a unique utm_source for each platform. Record all UTM URLs in your tracker.
- On the last day of each month, open your tracker and review the Monthly Referral Traffic column for each article. Go to Wix Analytics > Traffic Sources > Referral and record visits from medium.com, linkedin.com, reddit.com and quora.com for each piece of content.
- After 3 months of consistent syndication, identify your top 3 performing articles by total cross-platform referral traffic. Analyse what these articles have in common: topic category, format, length, platform mix. Use these patterns to brief your next batch of content for maximum syndication potential.
- Review your Google Search Console data quarterly to check whether your syndicated platform URLs are outranking your Wix originals for any target keywords. If they are, strengthen the Wix versions with additional content, internal links and fresh updates to reclaim the ranking position.
