How to Optimise Your Wix Pages for Featured Snippet Capture
Featured snippets are the highest-impact zero-click SERP feature for most Wix sites. This step-by-step guide shows you exactly how to identify featured snippet opportunities and optimise your Wix content to capture them.
Optimise your Wix pages to capture featured snippets in Google search results
- In Google Search Console > Performance, filter by "Position 2-10" and sort by impressions. Pages ranking in positions 2-10 with high impressions are your best featured snippet candidates — you are close to position 1 and the query likely shows a featured snippet.
- For each candidate page, search the target keyword in a private browser and check whether a featured snippet currently exists. If a competitor holds it, analyse their format: is it a paragraph snippet (40-60 words answering the query directly), a numbered list snippet, a bulleted list, or a table?
- Open the candidate page in Wix Editor. Find the section that answers the target query and restructure it to directly match the snippet format you identified. For paragraph snippets: write a single 40-60 word paragraph that directly answers the query using the exact question phrasing in the preceding H2 or H3 heading.
- For list snippets, restructure your content as a clean HTML ordered or unordered list. In Wix Rich Text Editor, highlight the items and use the list formatting button to create proper HTML list markup rather than manually typed dash characters.
- For table snippets on comparison queries, add a Wix Table element to the page showing the comparison data. Tables for features like "Types of X", "X vs Y comparison", or "X pricing tiers" have the highest snippet capture rate.
- Add a matching H2 heading immediately above your snippet-formatted content that exactly mirrors how users phrase the question. For example, if targeting "what is structured data", the H2 should be "What Is Structured Data?" and the following paragraph should define it in 40-60 words.
- Add FAQ schema to every page targeting "how to", "what is", or "best X" queries. In Wix Editor > Settings > Advanced > Custom Code, add JSON-LD FAQPage schema listing the top 5-8 questions users ask about your topic with concise answers.
- After updating the page, go to Google Search Console > URL Inspection and request re-indexing. Featured snippet capture can happen within 24-48 hours of indexing for pages already ranking in positions 2-5.
- Monitor snippet capture weekly by searching your target queries in a private browser. When you capture a snippet, screenshot it and record it in your SERP Feature Tracker tab so you can correlate snippet captures with impression and click metric changes.
- If a snippet is captured then lost, compare your content against the new snippet holder and update your format. Featured snippets require ongoing maintenance as Google frequently tests different sources for the same query.
Run the complete zero-click audit
- Block 3-4 hours for the full audit
- Work through each section systematically, scoring every item
- Document specific keywords and pages for any Partial or Fail scores
- Prioritise Section 1 (SERP feature assessment) first to identify the biggest opportunities
- Then address Section 2 (featured snippets) as the highest-visibility zero-click feature
- Next improve Section 6 (measurement) so you can track the impact of changes
- Schedule quarterly re-audits and track score improvement over time
