A calculator and financial documents, for working out what a Wix website costs

What a Wix website costs in 2026, plan by plan, in pounds and dollars, with the yearly totals, the costs on top of your plan and when it is worth paying for help.

A Wix website costs anything from nothing to £119 a month in the UK ($159 in the US), depending on the plan you choose. Most small businesses need the Light, Core or Business plan, which cost £9, £16 or £25 a month in the UK. On top of that, you may pay for a domain after the first year, for any paid apps you add and for help from a professional. This guide covers each cost in turn, using the prices on Wix's own plans page in October 2026.

CMS items are the entries you can store in your site's content collections, such as products in a catalogue, team members or portfolio projects.

Wix shows these as monthly prices on a yearly plan, and other billing periods are available. Prices vary by country, so always check the final price, including any tax, on Wix's checkout page before you pay. Every paid plan includes a free domain for the first year, your own domain name, no Wix branding on your site and 24/7 customer care. Wix also offers a 14-day money-back guarantee.

What you get on the free plan

The free plan costs nothing and is a good way to try Wix and build your site before you pay. But it shows Wix branding on your site and you cannot connect your own domain name. For a business, that looks less professional and makes you harder to trust, so most businesses move to a paid plan before they launch.

Which Wix plan do you need?

  • Light (£9, $17): for a simple site that only needs to show who you are and how to contact you. It does not include accepting payments.
  • Core (£16, $29): the cheapest plan that lets you accept payments, with basic eCommerce and more storage. A good fit for a small business starting to sell online.
  • Business (£25, $39): the plan Wix recommends. It adds standard eCommerce, a standard marketing suite and 100 GB of storage. Choose this if you take bookings or sell products regularly.
  • Business Elite (£119, $159): for larger shops and busy sites that need unlimited storage, advanced eCommerce and the advanced developer platform.
  • Enterprise: for large organisations. Wix prices it on request.

If you are not sure, start with the plan that covers what your site needs to do today. You can upgrade later.

What a Wix website costs for a whole year

Because the prices above are for a yearly plan, it helps to see the full amount you pay for the year. Before tax and any extras, a year costs:

PlanUK, per yearUS, per year
Light£108$204
Core£192$348
Business£300$468
Business Elite£1,428$1,908

So a typical small business on the Business plan pays £300 a year in the UK for its website, including hosting, security and customer care, with the domain free for the first year.

How to keep your Wix costs down

  • Start on the free plan while you build. You only need to pay when you are ready to launch.
  • Choose the plan for what you need now. You can move up a plan later, so there is no need to pay for features you will not use yet.
  • Check your apps. Before you add a paid app, see whether Wix already has a built-in feature that does the same job.
  • Use a free template. Wix's own templates cost nothing and can be changed to suit your business.
  • Keep an eye on renewal dates. Your plan and your domain can renew automatically, so note when they are due and check the renewal settings in your Wix account.

Costs on top of your plan

  • Your domain after the first year. The domain is free for the first year on a paid plan, then it renews at Wix's domain price. See my lesson on setting up your domain and SSL on Wix.
  • Paid apps. Many apps in the Wix App Market are free or have a free version, but some charge their own monthly fee.
  • A premium template. Wix's own templates are free. Some designers sell their own. See my lesson on choosing the right Wix template.
  • Wix's AI site builder. If you are looking at Symphony by Wix, it has its own pricing. See my guide to Symphony by Wix pricing.

Doing it yourself or paying for help

Building the site yourself costs only your plan and your time. Paying for help adds a one-off cost, but it can save you weeks and help your site get found. If you would like a professional to design or improve your site, see my Wix website design service.

A site that nobody finds on Google will not bring in customers, whatever plan it is on. If you want to make the changes yourself, the Wix SEO Fix Pack gives you the exact fixes for £25 a page. Hourly help is £99 an hour. For what having it all done for you costs, see how much Wix SEO costs and my pricing page.

Is Wix worth the money?

For most small businesses, yes. Hosting, security, updates and customer care are all included in the plan, so there is nothing extra to maintain. Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a Wix website cost per month?

In the UK, Wix's paid plans cost £9, £16, £25 or £119 a month on a yearly plan. In the US they cost $17, $29, $39 or $159 a month. There is also a free plan, and Enterprise is priced on request.

Is Wix free?

You can build a site on Wix for free. The free plan shows Wix branding and does not let you connect your own domain name, so most businesses upgrade to a paid plan before they launch.

Which Wix plan is best for a small business?

Wix recommends the Business plan, at £25 a month in the UK or $39 in the US. If you only need a simple site with no online payments, Light is enough. Core is the cheapest plan that lets you accept payments.

Does Wix include a domain name?

Yes. Every paid plan includes a free domain for the first year. After that, it renews at Wix's domain price.

Are there hidden costs with Wix?

The plan covers hosting, security and customer care. The main extra costs are your domain after the first year, any paid apps you add and any professional help you choose to pay for.

Can I get a refund on a Wix plan?

Wix offers a 14-day money-back guarantee on its plans. Check Wix's own terms for the details.
