Why Is My Wix Site Not Ranking on Google?

A 300 word service page will not outrank a 2,000 word one, whatever platform either is built on. Google is choosing between your page and a competitor's, and depth is one of the clearest differences between them.

Internal links tell Google which of your pages matter most and pass authority between them. A page with no internal links pointing at it is effectively an island, and Google treats it accordingly.

Wix renders server-side, so this is less common than it used to be, but content inside galleries, sliders, accordions that load on click, or third party app widgets may not be read by Google at all.

Ranking and being clicked are different problems. Plenty of sites appear on page one and get almost no traffic, because the title gives nobody a reason to choose it.

If you serve a geographic area and your site does not make that clear, you will not appear in the local pack. That means a properly configured Google Business Profile and NAP consistency.

Five pages all optimised around the same keyword do not give you five chances to rank. They give Google five candidates for the same query, it picks one, and often it picks the wrong one.

Wix generates some schema automatically, but it produces disconnected fragments without @id linking. Answer engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity cite sources they can parse confidently. Incomplete schema means you are legible to nobody.

Google needs time. A site published last month competing against one published in 2015 is not losing because of Wix. There is no fix beyond patience and continuing to do everything else properly.

Backlinks remain a major ranking factor and Wix neither helps nor hinders. If nobody links to you and your competitors have hundreds of references, that gap shows.
