Bulk meta tags using SEO patterns for dynamic pages

Writing individual meta titles and descriptions for 200 dynamic pages is not scalable. Wix SEO Patterns solve this problem by letting you create formula-based meta tag templates that automatically pull field values from your CMS collection. The result is unique, keyword-rich metadata on every dynamic page without manual effort.
What Wix SEO Patterns Are and Where to Find Them
SEO Patterns are found in the Wix SEO Dashboard under Site SEO. They apply to dynamic pages and let you create a title tag formula using a combination of static text and dynamic variables from your CMS collection. When Google crawls a dynamic page, it sees the fully rendered metadata with the actual field values substituted in.
Available Variables for SEO Patterns
- {Page Title}: the title field from the CMS collection record
- {Collection Field Name}: any field from your connected collection
- {Site Name}: your Wix site name as configured in site settings
- {Category}: the category or section the dynamic page belongs to
- Custom text: you can combine static words with dynamic variables freely
Building an Effective Title Tag Pattern
A strong title tag pattern includes the primary keyword, the specific dynamic value that makes each page unique, and ideally the brand name. For a collection of city service pages, a pattern like "{City} Wix SEO Services | YourBrand" produces titles like "London Wix SEO Services | YourBrand" and "Manchester Wix SEO Services | YourBrand" — unique, keyword-relevant, and within character limits automatically.
- Lead with the most important keyword or dynamic value
- Include enough static text to provide context for every record
- Keep total pattern output under 60 characters including the dynamic value
- Test the pattern output against several records before publishing
- Use the meta description pattern to include a unique value proposition and dynamic location or category
Step-by-step: How to configure Wix SEO Patterns for bulk meta tag management on dynamic pages
- Open your Wix dashboard and navigate to Marketing & SEO > SEO Tools.
- Click on "SEO Patterns" in the SEO Tools dashboard to access the bulk meta tag configuration.
- Select the dynamic page set you want to configure — each collection-connected dynamic page set is listed separately.
- Click "Edit" next to the Title Tag field and build your pattern using a combination of static text and dynamic collection field variables.
- For example, set the title pattern to "{City} SEO Services | YourBrand" where {City} pulls from your collection's City field.
- Click "Edit" next to the Meta Description field and build a description pattern using the primary dynamic value plus a consistent value proposition statement.
- Preview the rendered output by clicking "Preview" to see how the pattern renders across different records in your collection.
- Check at least 10 records, including those with unusually long or short field values, to confirm the output stays within character limits and reads naturally.
- Save the pattern and publish your site, then verify two or three dynamic page URLs in Google Search Console using the URL Inspection tool to confirm the metadata is rendering correctly.
How to Set Up SEO Patterns for Wix Dynamic Page Collections
Configuring SEO Patterns correctly across all your Wix CMS collections ensures every dynamically generated page has unique, keyword-rich metadata without manual effort.
How to configure and test Wix SEO Patterns for bulk meta tag management across dynamic page collections
- Open Wix Dashboard > Marketing & SEO > SEO Tools and click "SEO Patterns" to access the bulk metadata configuration panel.
- Review the list of all dynamic page sets connected to CMS collections — each should appear as a separate entry with its own pattern configuration.
- Click "Edit" next to the first dynamic page set and navigate to the Title Tag pattern field.
- Build the title tag pattern using a combination of a primary static keyword and a dynamic variable from the collection (e.g. "{City} SEO Services | YourBrand").
- Ensure the dynamic variable you reference (such as {City} or {Title}) exactly matches the field name in your CMS collection.
- Click "Edit" next to the Meta Description field and build a description pattern that combines a unique value proposition with the primary dynamic variable.
- Use the "Preview" function to render the pattern output against five or more different collection records, checking for character limit overruns or awkward phrasing.
- For any records where field values produce overly long titles, update those specific field values in the CMS collection to shorter equivalents.
- Save the pattern configuration and publish your site to make the new metadata live across all dynamic pages in the collection.
- Open Google Search Console and use URL Inspection on three different dynamic page URLs from the collection to confirm the metadata is rendering as expected.
- Set a quarterly reminder to review SEO Patterns as collection data grows, to ensure new records do not introduce metadata quality issues.
