Why Choose Professional Schema Markup for Wix?
Wix auto-generates basic schema markup, but it is limited to surface-level Organisation and WebSite types. Professional dual-layer schema markup goes far beyond what any plugin or AI generator can produce. It creates a connected @id graph that links every entity on your site, implements GEO and AEO entity layers for AI search engines, removes conflicting Wix auto markup, and is hand-written specifically for your business. The result is richer search results, improved AI citations, and a knowledge graph presence that generic tools cannot achieve.
Schema Implementation Process
Step 1: Discovery audit of your current markup and business entities. Step 2: Custom schema architecture designed around your services, locations, and offerings. Step 3: Hand-coded JSON-LD implementation via Wix custom code. Step 4: Testing and validation with Google Rich Results Test and Schema Markup Validator. Step 5: Monitoring and iteration as Google processes the new structured data.
What Is Dual Layer Schema Markup?
Most schema implementations stop at the basics: Organisation, WebSite, and maybe a BreadcrumbList. Dual layer schema goes further. Layer 1 covers traditional SEO structured data — the markup that earns rich results, sitelinks, and knowledge panels in Google. Layer 2 adds a GEO and AEO entity layer that makes your business machine-readable to AI search engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot.
Every schema is hand-coded in JSON-LD, not generated by a plugin or template. It uses connected @id references to build a knowledge graph specific to your business, linking your organisation, services, locations, reviews, and FAQs into a single coherent entity that search engines can fully understand.
Schema Types We Implement
Organization & LocalBusiness — Your core business entity with name, address, contact details, opening hours, and service area. The foundation every other schema node connects to.
Service Nodes — Individual service descriptions with pricing, areas served, and provider references. Core tier includes a single service node; Growth and Commerce tiers include per-service nodes.
FAQPage & Question — Structured FAQ markup that helps AI systems (Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity) cite your Q&A content directly. Includes 10-50 Q&A pairs depending on tier.
Product & Offer — E-commerce product markup with pricing, availability, and review data. Available in the Commerce tier for Wix Stores.
Review & AggregateRating — Structured review data that can display star ratings directly in search results.
GEO Entity Layer — knowsAbout topic mapping, areaServed declarations, and answer engine question sets that make your business citable by AI search platforms.
How I know this works
Most SEO consultants selling structured data have never had their own graph audited. Mine is checked automatically on every deployment.
This site runs 946 prerendered pages carrying 943 JSON-LD blocks. Every build validates them for three things that actually break an entity graph:
Duplicate identifiers
Two nodes claiming the same @id is a malformed graph, and search engines resolve the conflict by ignoring both. The build fails if any @id appears twice on a page.
Broken references
The whole point of a connected graph is that a node saying "referencing #organization" finds an organisation node to reference. If it does not, the graph is a collection of disconnected fragments rather than one entity. The build fails on any reference that does not resolve.
Invalid properties
Schema.org has a defined vocabulary. Properties that look plausible but do not exist are silently ignored, which means markup that appears complete and does nothing. The build fails on any property that is not real.
Current result across all 946 pages: zero duplicate identifiers, zero broken references, zero invalid properties.
I found nine invalid properties on my own site while building these checks. That is the point. Nobody writes structured data without making mistakes. The difference is whether anything catches them.
The same checks are part of every Dual Layer Schema Pack. Your graph is validated before it goes live, not assumed to be correct.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is dual layer schema and how is it different from normal schema markup?
Standard schema markup describes your pages to search engines: what type of page it is, what content it contains, who wrote it. Dual layer schema adds a second layer on top of that. The first layer handles the traditional SEO job, earning rich results in Google. The second layer defines your business as a machine-readable entity, with disambiguated identity, topic expertise, geographic scope and answer-ready question and answer pairs. That second layer is what generative AI systems like ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews use when deciding which businesses to cite in their answers.
Does Wix not already add schema automatically?
Wix adds basic schema to your pages automatically. It covers page types, breadcrumbs and some product data. But it does not describe your business as a distinct entity, does not connect your schema nodes into a single graph with @id references, and does not include the GEO and AEO signals that language models look for. The auto-generated markup also sometimes conflicts with manually added schema, producing errors in validation. The Dual Layer Pack replaces and extends the auto markup so everything works together cleanly.
Will this break anything on my Wix site?
No. Schema markup sits in the head of your pages as invisible code. It does not affect your design, your content or how your site functions for visitors. The only visible change is that Google may start showing enhanced results for your pages, such as star ratings, how-to steps, or business details in the knowledge panel. Schema also helps AI search engines cite your content accurately.
How quickly will I see results?
Google typically recrawls and reprocesses schema within days to a few weeks, especially after URLs are resubmitted through Search Console. Rich results can appear within that window. AI citation is harder to predict because each system has its own crawl schedule and retrieval logic. Schema is an eligibility and clarity signal. It makes your business parseable, which is the prerequisite for citation, but it works alongside your content and authority rather than replacing them.
Do I need to be on a premium Wix plan?
You need a Wix plan that allows custom code injection, which is any paid plan (Light, Core, Business or Business Elite). The free plan does not allow custom code in the site head, so schema cannot be installed there.
Does this work for Wix Studio as well as the standard Editor?
Yes. The markup is added through Wix Settings and Custom Code, which works identically on both Wix Editor and Wix Studio sites. If your site uses Velo (Wix's development platform), I can also install schema through code if that suits your setup better.
Will schema alone get me into ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews?
Schema alone does not guarantee citation in any AI system. What it does is make your business machine-readable, which is the first requirement. AI systems also weigh your content quality, authority, relevance and how well your answers match the query. Schema removes the technical barrier. The content and reputation work is separate.
Do you guarantee rich results?
I guarantee the markup will validate clean in Google Rich Results Test and the Schema.org validator. Whether Google chooses to display a rich result for any given query depends on factors outside anyone's control, including competition, query type and Google's own policies on which features to show. If the markup does not validate, you do not pay.
What happens if Google changes the schema spec?
Schema.org evolves and Google periodically updates which markup it supports. If a spec change breaks or deprecates any of your markup, Schema Care (the optional annual plan) covers the update. Without Schema Care, I will let you know about the change and quote any rework needed.
What if I redesign my site later, does the markup survive?
Markup added through Wix Settings and Custom Code at the site level survives a redesign. Page-level markup tied to specific pages will survive as long as those pages still exist. If you remove pages during a redesign, the schema referencing them will need updating. Schema Care covers this. Without it, a one-off update can be quoted.
Who owns the markup once it is installed?
You do, outright. There is no licence, no lock-in and no ongoing fee required to keep it. The markup stays on your site whether or not you continue working with me. The handover document contains the full JSON-LD as copyable code, so you always have the source.
Can I do this myself instead of hiring someone?
Yes. The free 68-module Wix SEO course on this site covers schema markup in detail. If you have the time and want to learn, that is a genuine option. The Dual Layer Pack exists for people who would rather hand it to someone who has built hundreds of these graphs and get it done in a week.
