Core Web Vitals on Wix: The Real Story

Wix sites have a reputation that's years out of date. We benchmark current Wix performance, explain what the platform optimises automatically and where you still need to intervene.

Transcript

For years the SEO industry has carried the assumption that Wix sites are slow. The data from 2025 onwards tells a very different story.

In this episode I share PageSpeed Insights results from 50 randomly selected Wix Studio sites and 50 WordPress sites built on popular themes. The results may surprise you.

We'll walk through what Wix optimises out of the box: image conversion to WebP and AVIF, automatic CDN delivery, lazy loading, code minification and HTTP/3.

Then we'll cover the three things you still control: hero image weight, third-party app load and font choices. Fix those and a Wix site competes with anything.
